Happy Wednesday beautiful people! This here post is going to be very photo heavy, so grab a cup of coffee or something. One day after returning from WPPI, I headed to a girl's weekend in the mountains with some incredible ladies. Yes, there was a lot of mommy guilt over the one day home and then out again, but Marty held down the fort and no one seems to be any worse for the wear due to my absence. So, let me just tell you how cool this trip was! I am such a lucky gal......to know and be in the process of building friendships with such cool women! Who are the real deal, brilliant, funny, themselves and just happen to be neighbors. We had an awesome weekend being lazy, dancing and laughing so hard our stomachs hurt.
We also had a blast with some hot mama mini photo shoots. It was impromptu and I was more than tickled to turn my lens on such hotness. I had so many cool thoughts as I was shooting and laughing with them, that I was all like, "dude, I feel a blog post with this. Is that cool?" And so here is what hit me......#1. These women rock. But I already mentioned that. But really, they rock. #2. We all deserve some current and killer portraits of ourselves. #3. We all have something "authentically awesome" in us that is just beautiful and can come out in front of the camera. This is what the people who love us see and we shouldn't go around putting that down. #4. Now is the time for portraits. Like right now. Another day doesn't have to go by. We did these with no planning, no concern for clothes. No worry about fall foliage or spring flowers. And they are some of my most favorite portraits ever. Because they are simply in the moment. #5. I am super inspired by the friendship, openness and fun from these photographs!
Thanks again ladies! More photos coming tomorrow. Lots of pics and had to split it up! On with the show. Just going in order here......
Well, this one is out of order. The whole gang in town......
Below....the soulful side of the life of the party Miss Sandee......
Sweet and gorgeous Kris......
The sparkly and lively Carolyn.....
Next we have the hilarious, sarcastic and fellow '90's rap lover Jill........
And, in town, I was feeling an "indieish", Juno kind of look from Jill. And she totally pulled it off....
Next up is Michele, a.k.a. Shelly. Who is a beautiful, funny lady that can draw a crowd. In a good way. You just can't help but want to be around her.....
And one more of Shelly for now. Tomorrow I'm adding photos from when we headed into town and we have some killah ones of Michele from there.
Below... drawing some looks from the mountain town locals.....
And I'll leave you with a new all time favorite portrait. Of Sandee, in the snow, wrapped in what we later found out to be a new blanket. But, I think the shot was worth it. xoxo, Amy
